چکیده

Several studies have investigated the properties of alkali-activated materials (AAM), considering it as a substitute cementitious concrete. However, on self-consolidating concrete (AASCC) are extremely limited. This paper AASCCs utilizing ground granulated blast furnace slag (GGBFS) main precursor. Single, binary, and ternary were produced using fly ash Class-F (FA) silica fumes (SF) replacement for GGBFS. The fresh including filing ability, passing ability stability, well hardened unconfined compressive strength, ultrasonic pulse velocity, electrical resistivity, absorption, sorptivity ambient cured one-part AASCC mixtures with different precursor blends investigated. In addition, microstructural 90-day studied by various microscale analysis methods. demonstrated that higher fraction sodium carbonate/silicate activators, ranging from 20% to 25%, contributed delayed reaction kinetics satisfactory mechanical in all systems due their nature. Slag variable SF or FA class-F ratios, instead, could indeed adjust particle size distribution total binder material improve characteristics binary systems. Finally, formation products binding gels, i.e., C-(N)A-S-H, was found significant impact several transport mechanisms, capillary sorptivity, permeable pores, bulk resistivity.

SELF-Cured Alkali Activated Slag Concrete Mixes- An Experimental Study

Alkali Activated Slag Concrete (AASC) mixes are manufactured by activating ground granulated blast furnace slag (GGBFS) using sodium hydroxide and sodium silicate solutions. The aim of the present experimental research was to investigate the effect of increasing the dosages of sodium oxide (Na2O, in the range of 4 to 8%) and the activator modulus (Ms) (i.e. the SiO2/Na2O ratio, in the range of ...

Investigating properties of fresh and hardened self-compacting concrete made of recycled aggregates

Self-compacting concrete is a new high performance concrete with high ductility and segregation resistance. In recent years, construction material manufacturers have focused their attention on lightweight concrete and have strived to use lightweight concrete, if possible, in load-bearing parts of buildings. Concrete with both self-compacting and lightweight properties is favourable in this cont...

Prediction of mechanical and fresh properties of self-consolidating concrete (SCC) using multi-objective genetic algorithm (MOGA)

Compressive strength and concrete slump are the most important required parameters for design, depending on many factors such as concrete mix design, concrete material, experimental cases, tester skills, experimental errors etc. Since many of these factors are unknown, and no specific and relatively accurate formulation can be found for strength and slump, therefore, the concrete properties ca...

Development of Self-Consolidating Concrete for Bridge Girders and Evaluation of Its Fresh Properties

Self-consolidating concrete (SCC) has been developed for use in precast prestressed concrete bridge girders in the state of Minnesota. Locally available materials were used with a number of cementitious and filler materials, including ASTM Type III cement, Class C fly ash, and blast furnace slag. SCC was successfully proportioned with both natural river gravels and crushed stone as coarse aggre...
